Weather Passport brings together two things I love: weather forecasting and exploring the world.

For nearly 30 years, I was a broadcast meteorologist in Virginia, forecasting everything from major winter storms to hurricanes and tropical flooding. Along the way, my family also caught the travel bug.

Somewhere along the way, I started realizing that being flexible and harnessing the weather data to plan a trip can completely change the way we experience a place. The right weather can make a vacation unforgettable. The wrong weather can leave you sitting in a hotel room wondering why you booked it in the first place.

Whether you’re chasing fall foliage, planning a road trip, heading to the coast, or exploring somewhere halfway around the world, my goal is simple:

I’m a three-time Emmy Award-winning meteorologist with a Communications degree from Old Dominion University, training from Mississippi State’s Broadcast Meteorology Program, and the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval.
